Have you always wanted to know how to do a Sun Salutation?

Join a group of like-minded individuals looking to learn the proper poses and alignment to avoid injury, increase flexibility, balance and strengthening of the spine. At the closing of the workshop, Shauna will lead you in a relaxing Crystal Sound Bowl meditation.

The Sun Salutation, or Surya Namaskara (SOOR-yuh nah-muh-SKAR-uh), is a series of poses performed in a sequence to create a flow of movement. Each pose coordinates with your breathing: Inhale to extend, and exhale to bend. Sun Salutations build heat in the body and are often used as warm-up sequences for a yoga practice. The components of a Sun Salutation also make up a "vinyasa" — the series of movements used between poses in Vinyasa Yoga.

Shauna Artman

A recent transplant to the Olympic Peninsula from San Diego, Shauna has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years, receiving her 200 hr Yoga CRT in Hatha Yoga in 2012. Shauna is also Certified in Sound Bowl Healing , involved in ongoing Mediation study, healing, nutrition and mind body health.
